Faced with an important deadline to relocate in or near Ellijay we begin looking for property. Either an existing home or a lot ready to build. Upon finally finding a lot that met our needs it was time to move forward with building new. There were many decisions to be made regarding obtaining a suitable plan, developing a reasonable budget, and most important of all finding a contractor who would be able to get the job done for us on our project. Fortunately, for us we were introduced to Will Ward and his company after a false start with another not so local contractor.
We met with Will, explained our project, requirements, concerns and timeframes. Will was able quickly provide important input to finalize our plans, provide pricing and critical detail regarding important scheduling milestones to reach our timeframes. In a very short period of time, we were fully engaged and moving forward with construction.
Throughout the project he was able to engage the necessary resources to keep us on track with our budget and schedule, quickly responding to changes as they occurred always keeping the big picture in mind.

“Practically perfect in every way.” If you read the other reviews, you might think so, and they are not far wrong. Honest? Yes. Dependable? Yes. Competent? Highly! I would like to add another trait: collaborative.
If you want turnkey, Will is your contractor. We, however, wanted to be involved with modifications to the blueprints and design elements. He took us seriously, and there was a great deal of conversation back and forth as we ironed out the details. As importantly, he was gracious when we asked for the improbable or impossible. [It helped to remember that we were paying him, when necessary, to say “No”.]
Were there hiccups? Of course. We are, however, sad to see the building process end. His cheerful, collaborative personality made the built as painless as a construction project could be. We would happily build another home with Will.

Ward Builders handled every aspect of my home’s construction and I moved in April 2025. It was on-budget and ahead of schedule. Will worked with me starting from a sketch on a napkin over lunch until completion…..and he has been back promptly to help with minor adjustments – which were likely user error. His team of subs were outstanding. My dear friends just acted as their own contractors and will wind up spending more, for less quality, as Will’s reputation with suppliers and contractors gets him better pricing.
